THE LYRA LICENSE (GREECE)

During the latter part of the seventies, PLAYMOBIL® was produced in Greece under License from Geobra Brandstätter by a company named Lyra. Unlike other licensees, Lyra did not just copy complete sets and their associated packaging. Instead they put together a completely different product assortment - including figures and accessories that were not available in the original German product range.
Lyra offered its licensed PLAYMOBIL® products in a very colorful packaging, which looked more like current day PLAYMOBIL® boxes in terms of backgrounds an photography than the simple blue boxed sets that were used by Geobra Brandstatter at that time
